Carlisle - American Promise is spearheading a 50-state Citizen Uprising with one goal: the 28th Amendment to the Constitution that sets reasonable limits on election spending and protects the rights for human beings over privileges for global corporations and special interests. The Uprising will be most intense in the lead up the 2018 elections, and citizens of the Bay State have an important role to play in ratification.
Jeffrey D. Clements, founder and president of American Promise and author of the book "Corporations Are Not People: Reclaiming Democracy from Big Money and Global Corporations," will be the guest speaker at a free educational presentation at the First Religious Society in Carlisle.
The Environmental Action Committee of First Religious Society and American Promise are sponsoring the presentation to highlight the central role of each citizen in local action within a cooperative national network. With 80+% support nationally, the American Promise team empowers and amplifies the cross-partisan actions or individuals and groups who are committed to the 28th Amendment. Whether you are a member of American Promise or a compatriot in another organization - American Promise welcomes Americans of good conscience who are ready to say that We the People - not money, not corporations, not special interests - govern The United States.
His talk will include opportunity for discussion with the audience.
