Massachusetts Ready to Rise - Boston

In 2016, the total cost of the presidential election and Congressional races added up to a whopping $6,444,253,265 -- more than has ever been spent before. Most of that money comes special interests and the very few people who can afford to buy influence and policy - at the expense of everyone else.

The only way to stop this? Passing a 28th Amendment to the Constitution, and making sure your voice and vote count as much as any billionaire’s or corporation’s.

All across Massachusetts, citizens are stepping up for a statewide Ballot Initiative in 2018 that says People - Not Money - Govern the United States. Help the Commonwealth join 18 other states and 800 cities and towns that have passed resolutions to overturn Citizens United and return to common sense limits on election spending.

Join American Promise and our allies for our Boston Ready to Rise workshop that will provide all the training and tools needed to get Massachusetts ready for the 2018 ballot.

The Massachusetts Uprising has been building for:

1) a statewide ballot initiative to give voice to all Massachusetts citizens.
2) a big push for the We the People Act in this legislative session.

We are drafting the ballot language right now, and connecting people to help get the initiative on the 2018 ballot. At the same time, our friends at We the People Massachusetts are spearheading the We the People Act, to get the 28th Amendment out to the states for ratification.

This is a free event, and everyone is welcome, so register today and bring along friends and neighbors who are tired of talking about what's wrong and ready to put passion into action.
